Sometimes health and wellness experts can be boring and overly technical. And then there are experts who communicate in an engaging and insightful manner. That was my experience in this interview with Dr. Candice Seti, Psy.D. We talked about food addiction, binge eating, the Romans, weight loss success and more.

Dr. Seti is known as the “The Weight Loss Therapist” and is based in San Diego, where she has a private practice with online consults. Dr. Seti has written numerous books in the areas of psychology and wellness.  You can see more info on her newest book at the end of this post.

She disagrees with the common belief that restrictive diets, pills, counting calories, or a combination of these is the only way to lose weight and keep it off.

Dr. Seti says “That type of program will not ensure long-term results. People need to make attainable and sustainable lifestyle changes for success. Effective lifestyle changes as related to weight loss are all about a person’s relationship with food. That is why up-front honesty about the factors contributing to your serious interest in losing weight is so important.”
